RVCS starts but not search

  • The website was reloaded, but the folder /files is not being created.
    I sent a PM. Please, read.
    Thanks!

  • It could be a problem in the php.ini configuration? mod_rewrite, register_globals etc? I do not know what else to try.

  • I did log in to your server, the files are OK, configuration OK, file rights OK … this cannot be a mod_rewrite or register_globals issue but could be a server setting that prevents php from creating the folder and files, here is the relevant code:

    if(!file_exists('files'))
    mkdir('files');

    $index = file_exists('files/peers')?(int)(filesize('files/peers')/BLOCK_SIZE):0;

    $f = fopen('files/peers','ab');
    if(flock($f, LOCK_EX)) {
    	$ind = fopen('files/index','ab');
    	flock($ind, LOCK_EX);
    	fwrite($f, pack('a'.BLOCK_SIZE,$id));
    	flock($f, LOCK_UN);
    	fclose($f);

    ```*mkdir
  • I believe the connect.php file is not being called. I created the file "teste1.php" inside the folder "/services". This file creates a folder "teste" inside the folder "/services". If you run: http://www.iwannaseeyou.com/services/teste1.php you will see that the folder "teste" will be created. Please, check.
    Look… If you run the file directly (http://www.iwannaseeyou.com/services/connect.php) , the folder is created but it initiates a download of this file?!
  • Please send me your domain again (e-mail and mention this post). I will copy the files we have on jabbercam.com as they are, change the domain to your domain and send the package back to you. That must work, if not, it is the server.
  • I sent a PM.
    Thanks!
  • Ok, now the files are being created, but still not doing the search.
  • Please, I really need your help!
  • ?????
  • I got your PM and will upload the files now. Please note, this is the upcoming version that runs on jabbercam.com, I will copy the files from there as they are. Cannot provide source code yet, however if it works, the software is the same, the only change is the design (.mxml).
    I did COPY the files from jabbercam.com/rvcs to your_domain.com/rvcs and did start the service. The files are created correctly and the service starts but it is extremely slow. To make sure, everything should work fine, I will create a demo account on a different server and post the link here while sending you the FTP details to be able to download the files.
    Here are the details, the files were copied from your server without modification: http://host1.yatko.com/~elitecom/rvcs/
    Here is your software as you uploaded to your server (exact copy) http://host1.yatko.com/~elitecom/iwsu/
  • THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
  • Ok, let's test it now:
    1. both sites are working, when using the links above
    2. you changed the DNS
    3. both sites are down (not working) when you access them via your domain due to the different setting in config.php
    4. changed $WEB_SERVICE_URL to your domain
    5. both sites are working again …
    I guess, there is no problem with your server the issue is the speed. When I tried to access the application on your host, it took me a while to load it. Use this resource for a while until you find something faster. When we aren't using our own servers, we rent from hosting marketers.
  • I am having the very same problem on my website, http://uvmchat.com/
    It begins the search and does not look to connect. I've followed the steps in this post and nothing is working. Should I send you a PM?
  • In your case the files are not created, check the file-rights for /services folder they should be 0777 (rw). To test, delete existing /files folder and reload the application. /services/files folder should be created with two files.
    The files folder is being created, and when I delete it, it comes back after launching the application. However, when it's created it shows up as 0755, and so I must manually change the permissions. The application is still not functioning correctly; once I press start it does not search. Please help
  • If it is created it is OK, by default is 0755, writable by the software. The two files inside are created?
    Use the domain with www (www .uvm…). As I tested it the "Searching" does not show up, possible cause, the files aren't created.
    The files folder is being created with text files 'index' and 'peers' with default permissions of 644.
    I edited .htaccess so the domain redirects with the www prefix. After doing this, the 'start' option works but when it is clicked it quickly shows two things and then goes back to 'stop'.
  • This is strange, send me FTP access via PM.
    Sent PM with FTP access
  • I created a demo account and copied your files: http://host1.yatko.com/~uvmchat/ (this works fine)
    *the only thing that was changed is the $WEB_SERVICE_URL in config.php to refect the demo site, your $WEB_SERVICE_URL should look like this:
    http://www.uvmchat.com/services/connect.php
    -after copying the files (and changed $WEB_SERVICE_URL) the software WAS NOT working on this server. It started working after I removed the .htaccess file
    -try removing your .htaccess file and access your URL WITH "www" prefix, using the exact same setting in config.php as I suggested above.
    I did rename your .htaccess file and the software loads fine, files are created but it stops instantly after start. The only thing that comes in mind is a firewall. Try to shut down your firewall for a few seconds and test the software. If it works, please get back with the details of your server (OS, platform, firewall), I'll try to help.
    Feel free to use this server until you find the issue NS1.yatko.com, NS2.yatko.com (I asked a 30 days trial)
Looks like your connection to H7 was lost, please wait while we try to reconnect.
