Is Text/Chat on Cirrus possible?

Hey I know that RTMFP does provide audio, video and text chat facility but I was told that Cirrus only provide audio and video streaming . Since text chat is a shared objects which is not provided by Cirrus. Please tell me I heard wrong and that there is a way to have text/chat on Cirrus?
