-
Chromebooks -Google Chrome OS powered netbooks- start shipping today (on pre-orders, June 15) and they are designed to run entirely on the web (cloud).
Instead of installed video chat applications like Skype, you have to use an alternative. As a first choice, Gmail’s built-in audio-video chat that will connect you to friends with a Gmail account. The new SVC video chat may be an interesting alternative with some new features:
- support for users
- audio/video quality auto detect
- audio/video quality manual settings
- acoustic voice echo cancellation (AFP 10.3)
- and some interesting new features (demo soon)
*SVC video chat runs on the new Chrome OS.
*for developers, the open source video chat should run on Chrome OS with AFP 10.1+
